In July 2026 our engineers installed a new gas line to feed commercial ovens used in the manufacturing process at a large factory in Ashford.
The pipework was run in stainless steel using M-press fittings. These are pressed fittings, crimped onto the pipe with a specialist tool rather than welded or threaded at every joint, which makes for a faster and tidier installation. A gas-coded welder then connected the new system to the existing pipework, so the join was made by someone qualified for that type of work.
The job also required a gas purge. Purging is the process of safely clearing air out of new pipework and replacing it with gas, so the system can be brought into use in a controlled way. It has to be carried out following Gas Safe procedures, which is one reason this kind of work should only ever be done by registered engineers.
